BERNINA 7 series

The 7 series machine is the first in the range to be a long arm sewing machine — with a 10 inch free arm and the option of 5.5mm or 9mm stitch width, all your boxes are ticked within this range.

If you like the idea of the 570 with its touch screen, but are looking for more space and the added feature of an inbuilt thread cutter and automatic presser foot lifter, then this is the first machine in the range that will suit your needs. Also embroidery and BSR capable (optional extras), this 5.5mm stitch machine with a 10 inch (25.5 cm) free arm will suit quilters, dressmakers and the potential embroiderer. The next models up increase in stitch width (9mm), and have added features such as the BERNINA Dual Feed system. This machine is smooth!

The next model up, the 770QE, is intended for the quilter with a 9mm stitch, BERNINA dual Feed and BERNINA Stitch Regulator included.

The 790 has a massive 7 inch (17.5cm) touch screen, and is equipped with the embroidery module (optional extra) and BERNINA Stitch Designer inbuilt. Any machine in this range performs with absolute precision. If however you wanted a longer arm again with completely automatic needle threader, then look no further than the 8 series!

Bernina has brought out its first ever household embroidery only machine. It is based on a 7 series long arm machine, with a 7.0 touch screen which is great for combining and positioning designs before stich out. It features Pinpoint Placement, total embroidery stitch control (invisible securing stitch, smart secure, thread away mode and cutting of jump stitches at every length), embroidery consultant and extra functionality buttons such as the park option button.
