The BERNINA Q20 and Q16 is designed, engineered, and assembled in Switzerland and can be upgraded from sit down to a classic frame easily. The studio frame lenght is 10’11” long and 3’3” wide with adjustable working heights of 35” to 44”.
The frame is constructed from anodized aluminum for a light weight yet sturdy frame that can handle the weight, size and speed of the BERNINA longarm machines with ease. With the optional extras of castor wheels, hydraulic lift, pantograph kit* and much more, you can customise this frame to suit your needs.
This beautiful long arm quilting machine has a generous 20 inch (50cm) sewing area, or 16 inches depending on your choice of machine. If you want to finish off your own quilts with the same quality stitch that you have on your BERNINA patchwork machine, then don't look past this beauty! Furthermore the Q20, can be upgraded onto the Classic Pro Frame (10ft) which is much sturdier than the studio frame.
The BERNINA Q20 and Q16 long arm quilting machine boasts features which are ahead of its time – a well placed in-built bobbin winder, the BERNINA needle threader, ergonomically designed (hand wheel near the sew head as well as the back of the machine), 2 x BERNINA Stitch Regulators (BSR) which allows for responsive stitch regulation all make for a beautiful machine. Another big benefit is that it takes domestic needles which means you can go to town using all the speciality needles available. The generous free arm depth and height provide ample space for managing your larger quilts. The pantograph kit* can be fitted at the time by us, or later on by the owner. Each machine is hand built by one engineer, in Switzerland. That’s quality.
Upon purchasing a long arm machine, we deliver and set up the machine and frame on site for you, take you through a customised tutorial and ensure that you feel confident with your machine before we take away all the extra unwanted foam and cardboard that comes with the machine which keeps its safe on its journey from Steckborn, Switzerland! Depending on location, transport requirements and distances involved there may be a fee applied, however we can discuss this as the time of purchase.
The Q series BERNINA is set up on a fold up table in our store, ready for you to try and fall in love with!
*Please note that the pantograph kit is not compatible with the Q16, only the Q16 PLUS and Q20

Thanks to the integrated BERNINA Longarm stitch regulator you achieve perfect stitches at equal-length no matter which speed you move the fabric. A manual mode with no stitch regulation is also available.

The well-positioned spool holders and forward threading path are easy to reach and simple to follow. The on-board bobbin winder makes it convenient to wind your own bobbins.
Totally customizable, the user interface includes useful functions, such as five user profiles, a stitch counter, and built-in tutorials regarding maintenance.

With high-speed precision stitching up to 2.200 stitches per minute, you will complete more quilts quicker than ever.
50 bright LED lights along the throat space of the machine and above the needle illuminate the quilt for enhanced visibility.
You can add the pantograph kit, or the ruler kit on as extras later on when you realise that all you want to do in life, is quilt!
